ACCOMMODATION

The Sleepout was built by Mike to appreciate the fantastic views down the Vyrnwy Valley and to the stunning hills of Mid Wales. It was hand crafted from unusual pieces of curved oak that Mike has sourced through his work as a tree surgeon; he has created a unique wooden cabin lined with herringbone brick, willow and cob-plaster, with lime washed walls and bespoke windows. The Sleepout also has a Hiki hot tub for your use, see booking for details.

ESSENTIALS

The Important Stuff

Inside the Sleepout there is a wood burning stove which will keep you warm even on the coldest day. An initial supply of wood, kindling and firelighters is provided, more is available to purchase on site.  This is a place for peace and quiet, to enjoy the outdoors but with warmth and comfort. The king sized double bed is on a large sleeping platform at the back of the Sleepout with spectacular views down the Vyrnwy valley. It has a small ladder to get to it. There are candles in lanterns and solar lights, as well as the glow from the fire, to light the cabin. This is camping, but luxurious camping!

There is room at the Sleepout for 2 adults and also 2 children over 4 years old if required but care must be taken because of the raised sleeping platform and the log burning stove.

One- two well behaved dogs are also welcome at the Sleepout.

Cooking

The Sleepout is a self-catering retreat and we’ve crafted a separate camp kitchen just next to the cabin which has a hand-made pizza oven, as well as a double gas burner and a beautiful bespoke wooden sink. There is also a fire bowl, essential for toasted marshmallows!

Meifod is the closest village at just a mile away, and has a shop for the basics.

Facilities

There is a washing up sink at the side of the Sleepout and a compost Treebog toilet 30 paces away from the Sleepout with a view into the hills.  The Sleepout has all its own private facilities including a Hiki Hot tub!
